Harrison was incorporated
in 1899 and was once the largest city on Lake Coeur d'Alene.
In 1917, about half of the residential area of Harrison and a
number of businesses were burned in a major fire. Most of the
town was never rebuilt after the fire. Harrison has remained a
sleepy little town that spurs to life each summer to celebrate
life on Lake Coeur d’ Alene.

Harrison has not experienced
growth in over a century; however, it has undergone steps for
annexation and development with countless new subdivisions, the
largest of which are Stone Gate and Powderhorn Ranch.
Though there is speculation of the impact of possible growth, Harrison remains a quiet
little town, in which to enjoy your summer vacation. |
